2001 Indiana AAU Calendar reveals tournament dates and locations for all age groups

The 2001 Calendar for the upcoming Indiana AAU season is now available.  Dates and locations for regionals, state tournaments and national tournaments are shown for all age groups.  Also, any conflict dates with IHSAA tournaments and national holidays are also noted.  Tournament entry deadlines and other updated information will be added as they become available.

Team Directories cleared for the upcoming season

Team Directories on the Indiana AAU website have been cleared of last season's information.  All teams are requested to re-enter their team's information for the upcoming season, as most teams will move up an age group and need to be listed in the appropriate directory.  Benefits to listing your team in an on-line directory here at Indiana AAU include the ability for other teams to contact you for games during the AAU season.

Indiana AAU individual award winners named for 2000

Outstanding Participant, Outstanding Senior and AAU All-American Awards for 2000 were announced at the October 8 Annual Meeting.  The Outstanding Participant Award is for recognition of a player's single AAU season, while the Outstanding Senior Award is in recognition of a player's entire AAU career.  After conferring with various Level I State Finals Tournament Directors, the Indiana AAU Girls Basketball Committee recognized the following individuals:

Area Rep Dan Willett receives Ruthie Webster Memorial Award from the National AAU Association

Long-term Indiana AAU volunteer Dan Willett of Duneland AAU (Chesterton) was recently honored by the National AAU Girls Basketball National Executive Committee with the esteemed Ruthie Webster Memorial Award.  This award is for outstanding service to girls basketball at the Association level.  Dan has been fielding teams from Northwest Indiana for approximately 16 years, hosting Association tournaments for almost as many years, served on our Association Girls Basketball Executive Committee for 12 years, and has mentored others in Northwest Indiana.  Congratulations to Dan for being honored and bringing prestige and distinction to Indiana Association AAU Girls Basketball!

Tournament dates are set for the 2001 season

Dates for the regional and state level tournaments for the 2001 season were set at the October 8 Annual Meeting.   Deadline for bid forms to host a 2001 tournament must be received by the Indiana AAU Office by Monday, October 23.  Bid forms can be obtained from our AAU Forms & Mailing page (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) or from the Indiana Association Indianapolis office.  The format for the 16U, 17U and 18U Regionals will now include a minimum of 3 games for each team and, if necessary, run over the course of two weekends.  Dates for 2001 Indiana AAU Tournaments are as follows:

Agenda & Minutes from October 8 Annual Meeting now available 

The Agenda & Minutes from the Indiana AAU Association Annual Meeting of October 8, 2000, are now available.  Minutes include the results from the recent Indiana AAU survey, election of state chair and area representatives, report on the National AAU Convention, report on interactions with IHSAA, new proposals, and other miscellaneous business.  Approximately 30 people attended and voted on issues presented at the October 8 meeting.
